Pickles and Play
North Raleigh / Wake Forest

OPEN TO BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS

Not only is it one of the most fun words to say and synonymous with pickleball, it’s also one of the most important shots in the game. The unique part of pickleball is the kitchen and you must be able to master your way around the kitchen if you want to eat up more wins!

A dink is a soft, controlled shot off the bounce from the NVZ intended to arc over the net downward as it crosses the net into your opponents NVZ. The goal is to be able to patiently master this shot to outlast your opponents into an unforced error or create another opportunity to take advantage of your opponents with your dinks to put the ball away with another offensive shot.

Curriculum:
This will be heavily focused on drills for repetition to optimize this skill. You will play “Dink Your Battleship” to work on patience and placement and work on dinks straight across the net as well as both forehand and backhand cross-court dinks. For the higher levels, we will use various dinks to set up Ernes and also learn ATPs off your opponents dinks.

Professional Trainers:
Lane Ethridge, Professional and L/E Coaching Staff

Eligible Levels:
2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5
